INTERNATIONALISATION

 

The international career of Amália Rodrigues was one of the longest and most global in the whole of the 20^th century. The commemorations of the Centenary of her birth will favour the international promotion of Amália’s legacy with programmes in International Fado Festivals and with a huge concert held at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris, as a result of the association of that organisation with the event.

 

INTERNATIONAL FADO FESTIVALS

The programming of the International Fado Festivals, co-produced by the Lisbon City Council, through EGEAC – Museu do Fado, since 2010, could not fail to pay tribute to the living memory of Amália Rodrigues. The vital energy of contemporary Fado is also the celebration of Amália Rodrigues’ immortal legacy. On October 6, 2020, we will celebrate this legacy with a concert that will be broadcast in live streaming from Amália Rodrigues’ house, in Rua de S. Bento, to different countries in Latin America.
