HERITAGE |RESEARCH | SAFEGUARDING

 

A programme to safeguard the museological heritage of Amália Rodrigues – printed documents, recordings, wardrobe, medals, trophies, musical instruments, visual arts, etc. – will seek to develop new lines of research around her extremely vast legacy, in close collaboration with the academic community and with those institutions housing important collections for the study of the life and work of Amália Rodrigues.

 

INVENTORY, DIGITALIZATION AND CATALOGUING THE MUSEOLOGICAL COLLECTION OF AMÁLIA RODRIGUES

 

 Inventory and digitalisation of Amália’s collection in the possession of archival and museological institutions (The Amália Rodrigues Foundation, National Theatre and Dance Museum, National Costume Museum, among others) and private collectors.

 

The creation of a Data Base to be made available online from the webpages of the Fado Museum, The Amália Rodrigues Foundation, National Theatre and Dance Museum, National Costume Museum.

THE AUDIO-VISUAL ARCHIVES OF AMÁLIA RODRIGUES

 

Digitalisation and cultural distribution of several of the films, in HD digital copy, in which Amália Rodrigues took part (DCP, format currently used for the projection in cinemas all over the world);

Co-production: EGEAC| Fado Museum, Portuguese Film Institute – Film Museum, Amália Rodrigues Foundation;

 

Restauration and public presentation by the Portuguese Film Institute – Film Museum of the new 35mm copy of the film Fado Corrido by Jorge Brum do Canto (1964).

Restauration and digitalisation of unpublished audio-visual material in tapes/super 8mm reels, in the possession of the Amália Rodrigues Foundation.

NATIONAL SOUND ARCHIVE

 

Within the framework of the Centenary of Birth of Amália Rodrigues, a collaboration protocol was signed between the National Sound Archive and Valentim de Carvalho, with the objectives of strategic cooperation to safeguard, preserve and restore Amália Rodrigues’ sound heritage.
